Unusual German Bonsa travel set, different from the more common tools sets. It has a good quality brown leather folding case which contains eating implements for 2 people –
2 spoons and 2 forks with the cut out bottoms to fit into a handle, all marked “Bonsa” on one side and “DRGM 146827 Registered” on the other. 2 knives marked in the same way on the blades, and 2 handles with grips for the tools at one end and along one edge. There is a crown cap opener, a can opener with serrated edge, and a corkscrew with fluted worm. These 3 are just marked “Bonsa”.
One knife and one handle are inscribed “Neil M Scott”, the other two are plain, presumably waiting for the right lady! The corkscrew fits very tightly into the handle and is held with a spring which needs prising with a knife to get the corkscrew out – take care! Case 14x11 cms, corkscrew 9 cms.
This is the 1900 German Registered Design of Bontgen and Sabin whose trademark was Bonsa.
See Ellis & Ellis – Corkscrews page 28, Peters & Giulian – Pocket Corkscrews – page 14, Peters German Corkscrew Registrations page 34.
Condition – Good, all tools have marks on the steel, knife blades have marks, handles are shiny steel with a few marks, case has scratch marks and some rubbing on the back and marks inside, the separating flannel inside has rust marks, worm is intact.

Payment Details: | Paypal, Bank Transfer or UK Check. Seller would appreciate if items over 500 pounds value could be paid by Bank Transfer and not Paypal. This is due to major problems experienced previously with Paypal, plus their very high fees. Bank details will be sent on request. |
