This is the original corkscrew shown in Mechanical Corkscrews . Figure 479. Another all steel German version with a notch in the shaft and a locking pin inside the handle that is automatically released when the handle engages the frame. Not marked. Shown in several German catalogues as the “Royal”. German registered design No. 50,657, Aug. Bies of Albrechts near Suhl and Ernst Demmler of Zella St. Blasii, December 24, 1895.
