This small neat nickel plated cast iron bar screw is marked “Infanta No 8, Pat Jan 1st 95” for the 1895 USA Patent of Henry J Williams. It is based on the Thomason mechanism, with 2 threaded shafts. It has a wooden knob on the turning handle. There is a small hole at the back of the top part of the mounting frame and a notch in the screw thread (see Meadows). 21 cms closed.
See O’Leary – Corkscrews – page 89, Peters - Mechanical Corkscrews page 129, Meadows – Compendium of Bar Corkscrews – page 138.
Very good, some loss of plating on both side of the vertical part of frame, bladed worm is intact, mechanism works OK. There is a screw for fixing the mounting, but no wing nut.

Payment Details: | Paypal, Bank Transfer or UK Check. Seller would appreciate if items over 500 pounds value could be paid by Bank Transfer and not Paypal. This is due to major problems experienced previously with Paypal, plus their very high fees. Bank details will be sent on request. |
