Rare unusual extendable double lever corkscrew marked “The Butler, Trademark” on both outer sides of the lever and “Made in France” on the inner side. This is the British version of the 1920 French patent of Leo Debeaurin, which was also patented in the UK in 1919. It has a dumb-bell shaped thin steel handle linking the 2 lever arms. 13 cms closed.
See Ellis & Ellis – Corkscrews page 117, Bidault – Brevets de Tire-Bouchons Francais page 172, Peters - Mechanical Corkscrews page 217, Wallis – British Corkscrew Patents page197.
Condition – good, loss of plating on frame and levers, some rusting and pitting, worm is intact, mechanism works OK.

Seller accepts PayPal payments | |
Payment Details: | Paypal, Bank Transfer or UK Check. Seller would appreciate if items over 500 pounds value could be paid by Bank Transfer and not Paypal. This is due to major problems experienced previously with Paypal, plus their very high fees. Bank details will be sent on request. |
