DESCRIPTION

A fine example of Baptiste Boué's French patent for a corkscrew, which was issued on February 11, 1888. It has a sliding lock mechanism on the inside of one side of the handle. This example has the trademark of Boué-Deveson struck on side of the handle and "MADE IN FRANCE" on the other. While I have only seen 2 or 3 other examples of this patent none were marked in this manner. This country of origin mark would indicate that it was made for export after such after such regulations were imposed in the early 1890s.

It is also, as you can see, marked "DEPOSE" as part the Boué-Deveson trademark .

Shipping Cost:	Domestic buyers will be charged $4.80 per corkscrew for Priority Mail. An additional charge ,varying with the closing price, will be made for insurance, which is required. Foreign buyers will have a choice of shipping methods ( Priority , Express, or Registered) and they will also be required to purchase insurance.
