DESCRIPTION
Twigg’s Patent all steel corkscrew with top catch piece. Marked “G. TWIGG’S PATENT ENGLAND OCTOBER 10 1867” on one side of the frame and “G. TWIGG’S PATENT U.S. AMERICA JAN.21 1868” on the other side. This was the first British corkscrew to be patented in the USA in 1868.
Very good condition, bare steel with small traces of old bronze wash visible in corners. 17.5 cm long.
