This is an unmarked example of a non-worm cork extractor that appears to be an example of Karl Loffler's 1866 US patent #59,241. The form of the extractor bit and the tapered shank both are strikingly similar to the patent drawing and the illustration shown on page 34 of O'Leary's book. Total length is 4 inches (10 cm)
This piece does not have a patent mark, but the shank is stamped LARENBACH & HERDER or perhaps LARENBACK & HERDER. The last letter of the first name is hard to read.
Overall condition is very good with a nice patina. There are no mechanical issues, there is some light wear to the handle and some light pitting on the metal.
