A French single lever shown in an advertisement about 1880 by M. S. Menneret as the “funny pocket corkscrew”, “Fermant à Levier” and “Breveté, S.G.D.G.” Manufactured by M. S. Menneret of Troyes, manufacturer of wine articles, and based on his French patent No. 101,871, Sosthène Menneret, 20 May 1878. Menneret referred in his advertisement to his 1878 patent, but the corkscrew shown differed somewhat from that design. The finger-loop handle is attached to one end of the corkscrew casings-handle, but in the patent design it was attached to the upper end of the shaft of the corkscrew. When used, the supporting arm is folded out 90 degrees and the worm 270 degrees.
Most of bronze plating present. Nice condition
