DESCRIPTION
French “Jacques Perille” Diamant mechanical corkscrew c.1880s.
French mechanical corkscrew which employs a clutch mechanism, patented by Jacques Pérille in October 1887. Marked on the frame “Diamant JP Paris”. Called Diamant presumably because of the facets above the frame. Approx sizes: length: 7 1/8 inches (18 cm), Worm: 2 inches (5 cm), Handle: 2 ½ inches (6,5 cm).
CONDITION
There is plating loss consistent with it's age, but the mechanism works well.
