French 1902 Patent L’Ultra Rapide single lever
Nice example of the uncommon French single lever corkscrew with rotating cam handle. The handle is marked “L’Ultra Rapide” and “Bte S.D.G.D.”
This is the 1902 French Patent of Fernand Francois.
It has a nickel plated steel frame with an eyebrow top, and a cylindrical shaft with cut-outs for the rotating round cam lever with oval crank handle.
See Bidault – Les Brevets de Tire-Bouchons Francais – page 136, Peters – Mechanical Corkscrews – page 185, Ellis – Corkscrews – page 113.
Condition – Very good, some loss of plating on neck and one side of frame and on back side of round lever, some marks and scratches, worm is intact, mechanism works OK.

Payment Details: | Paypal, Bank Transfer or UK Check. Seller would appreciate if items over 500 pounds value could be paid by Bank Transfer and not Paypal. This is due to major problems experienced previously with Paypal, plus their very high fees. Bank details will be sent on request. |
