This is a corkscrew manufactured by Charles Hull in the XIX century. Although it is marked Patent, there seems to be no British patent record for this piece and it is considered a variant of the van Gieson corkscrew. More interesting information about the history of the piece can be found in the book written by Fletcher Wallis, British Corkscrew Patents from 1795, page 354.
It can also be seen in Ferd. Peters book, Mechanical Corkscrews, page 31, figure 42.
The button at the end of the handle is marked CHAS.HULL’S PATENT PRESTO CORKSCREW and C. HULL’S PATENT on the shaft.
The piece is in very good condition with good working mechanism, a nice and sharp worm.
