DESCRIPTION
Rarely seen Zeilin sterling medicine dose cup with corkscrew, pat. March 7, 1882. This is a classic sterling silver version of that patent design produced by S. Cottle Co. of New York, NY. The firm operated from 1865 through about the first quarter of the 20th Century making a variety of silver novelty and vanity items. Because of its repousséd Victorian pattern, this cup most likely dates from the late 19th Century. This is the LARGER size with a rim diameter of 1.5 " (4.0 cm). This medicine cup is marked "Sterling" and "22" on the bottom along with the COTTLE TRADEMARK. Satis. guaranteed.
