Add this rare and early classic corkscrew to your American patent collection.....
ScrewCode* MLf070:Woodman 1886 US Patent corkscrew with nickel plated cast frame; an unique wire shaft and tapered helix combination and a ring which locks to a hook on the handle. MARKINGS: Cast in handle PATd JAN.Y6.1886 on one side and WOODMANs PATENT on the other side. Overall length is 6". Satis. guaranteed.
OPERATION: Begins with the worm fully extended and ring/wire shaft locked to frame. After insertion - when the frame meets the bottle - the hook is manually released - further clockwise turning causes the right twisted wire shaft to rise and pull cork.
