DESCRIPTION

Lovely Thomason corkscrew with what appears to be the original wooden handle , handle in good condition and possibly original brush. Barrel has a few small dings and one small scratch but nothing to spoil. Good badge marked ‘ SHUTER PATENT NE PLUS ULTRA’ Mechanism works perfectly and finally original worm missing tip. I’ve only seen 2 Shuter corkscrews and the other one is staying in my collection. Robert Shuter was recorded as a Corkscrew Maker in Stafford Street Wolverhampton in 1818 and James Shuter ( his son ?) was registered at the same address in 1834. Rarely seen corkscrew by the Shuter family.

CONDITION

As mentioned barrel few small dings and one small scratch and worm missing tip
