Voigt's early version marked JDEAL. This piece encompasses two of Voigt's corkscrew ideas - first as German DRGM 36019, Otto Voigt, 26 Jan 1895 for India rubber inside the neck frame to protect the bottle; and then German DRGM 402622 & 402623, Otto Voigt, 01 Dec 1909 for mechanism with a locking device on the handle. German spring-over-shaft self puller with wood handle. Free-riding barrel with tab lock. Registered design by G. Usbeck, January 4 1933. Barrel marked “BACCHUS WITH CORK-EXPELLER” on one solid sides and” BACCHUS MT KORK AUSTTOSSER” on the other. The fenestrated sides are marked “DRGM CAP LIFTER GERMANY on one side and DRGM KAPESELHEBER” on the other. Some loss of plating on barrel. See Peters, Mechanical Corkscrews, page 94.
