DESCRIPTION
This is the corkscrew for which William Gamble obtained the English patent number 41406, on the 19th of January 1886.The flat shaft is marked REGISTERED NO 41406 LEVER SHEFFIELD. The corkscrew is illustrated in Ferd. Peters’ book, Mechanical Corkscrew(page 59, figure 122) and in Corkscrews for collectors, Watney & Babbidge (page 141, figure 156).
A handsome t-screw with mahogany handle and nicely turned shaft.
