DESCRIPTION

An extremely rare nickel plated British Murray and Stalker patent corkscrew

Clearly marked Patent along with the patent number. Full length worm great patina. Operates perfectly and handles lock as they should in an upright position.

Plating largely present. Very good condition.

marked on one arm patent No 234, with wire helix,

Known as "The Extractum" the design was registered on 4 January 1894 and it was priced in W.B. Fordham's 1895 catalogue at 6/6. See Wallis (Fletcher): British corkscrew patents from 1795, Brighton 1997, page 122.
