’Die Bauart wurde für Eduard Becker, Solingen, unter der Nummer 7609 am 29. August 1892 als Gebrauchsmuster registriert. Bereits am 7. März 1893 erfolgte unter Nr. 70879 die Erteilung des Patentes beim Deutschen Reichspatentamt in Berlin. Der Columbus-Korkenzieher ist seit dem in unterschiedlichsten Varianten in aller Welt hergestellt worden.’
