DESCRIPTION

An example of Perille’s Diamant corkscrew. It is marked on one side of the frame DIAMANT J-P PARIS and very dim B 24 as for Bte S.G.D.G. 24 OCT 1877 (see pictures).

A very interesting history about Perille can be read in Gérard Bidault’s book, Les Tire-Bouchons Français. Modèles & Fabricants. Also, the corkscrew is pictured in the same book (page 173), or Ferd. Peters’ book, Mechanical Corkscrews (page 131, figure 393).

The piece is in good condition, the mechanism is working smoothly.
