A rare German pocket corkscrew. Patented in 1907 by Carl Bewer, the corkscrew has a spring which allows for the worm to be protected when not in use. It is marked “UNIVERSAL DR PATENT”. A very rare corkscrew.You can see it in Ferd Peters German Corkscrew Patents, page 34, figure 76 and 77.
