A collection of five mechanical corkscrews.
A collection of five mechanical corkscrews the details are as follows:
1. English “Surprise” open frame corkscrew marked “Registered 13185”. George Willets English registered design # 13,185 dated September 18, 1884.
2. German corkscrew with ball bearing insert in the top of the frame and turned wooden handle.
3. Italian Bass open frame corkscrew with turned wooden handle and metal plate inserted into the base of the handle. The plate prevents the handle being worn against the top of the frame.
4. Cast aluminum frame flip top with brass handle. Marked “INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA”.
5. French triple fly nut corkscrew unusual handle style.
These five pieces are all in good clean condition with no broken or damaged parts. The corkscrew worms and all full length with sharp points, with the exception of the Industria Argentina piece which has a small chip on the tip of the worm. (Please see pictures for additional details)
