German rack and pinion corkscrew with a separate rack independent of main Shaft
A rare German rack and pinion corkscrew with a separate rack which is independent of the main shaft and attached to the shaft with a fixed ring. This allows the shaft to turn independent of the rack. Marked “J.Henckels, Solingen” with the Henckels logo. Similar to the English Edwin Sunderland patent.
This piece is in good working order, but there is a large chip on one end of the handle. The corkscrew has a good rack and pinion mechanism, with no broken or damaged parts. The corkscrew worm is full length with a sharp point. (Please see pictures for additional details.)
