Three different German corkscrews with locking frames.
Three different German corkscrews with locking frames. The details are as follows:
1. German corkscrew with locking frame with square shoulders and flat top. A plate on the shaft locks it to the frame for insertion into the cork. Turning the handle anti-clockwise unlocks the frame and allows it to more upwards on the shaft for easy removal of the cork. Please note that the hooks do not extend above the top edge of the frame.
2. German corkscrew with locking frame with arched top. A plate on shaft locks it to the frame for insertion into the cork. Turning the handle anti-clockwise unlocks the frame and allows it to more upwards on the shaft for easy removal of the cork. Shown in German catalogs as the “Magnet”.
3. German locking frame corkscrew with revolving hooks on a plate attached to the shaft.. The plate is locked to the frame during insertion and cork removal and released by turning the handle anti-clockwise to release the frame and remove the cork. German registered design # 184,844 dated September 17, 1902. G. Usbeck, Steinbach – Hallenberg.
These three pieces are in good condition and good working order, with no broken or damaged parts. The corkscrew worms are full length with good sharp points. The tip on the Magnet version is slightly chipped. (Please see pictures for additional details.)
