German patent # 14,531, dated December 3, 1880. Marked “D.R. Patent"
German Friedrich Kummer patent with opposing bladed spiral cut crab pieces on the shaft. German patent # 14,531, dated December 3, 1880. Marked “D.R. Patent FK”. A fixed pin in the top section of the shaft contacts a notch in the top crab piece. This rotates against the lower section moving the shaft upwards and pulling the cork.
This item is in very good clean conditition and good working order with no broken or damaged parts. The corkscrew worm is full length with a sharp point. The wooden handle has no chips or cracks. (Please see pictures for additional details.)
