This extremely rare corkscrew is the combination of W.H. Van Gieson's American Patent No. 61485, January 22, 1867, and a Framed Threaded Shaft corkscrew. This corkscrew was made in England probably by Charles Hull. It is marked "PATENT"
This corkscrew is shown in FARROW & JACKSON'S 1875 catalogue as
"DESPATCH CORKSCREW"
