German registered design Ernst Demmler registration # 170,162 dated February 1, 1901. This corkscrew has a sliding locking mechanism in one side of the handle. The handle is locked at the top of the thread for insertion into the cork. The slide is moved outwards to release the handle which then winds down the thread to pull the cork. Marked “D.R.G.M. No 170162”
This piece is in good condition and good working order. The corkscrew has no broken or damaged parts and the corkscrew worm is full length with a sharp point. There are areas of plating wear on the frame. (Please see pictures for additional details.)
