English Thomason IV Fluted Barrel Corkscrew- Patent No. 2,617, dated May 7, 1802
An English Thomason IV Fluted Barrel corkscrew - Patent No. 2,617,dated May 7, 1802. This corkscrew has smooth mechanical action. The fluted barrel is marked around the button - THOMASON NE PLUS ULTRA. (Faint marking). The wire helix is full length with a sharp point, but is slightly distorted at the tip. A nice example of a hard to find piece.
CONDITION
The corkscrew is in excellent working order and operates smoothly. The handle is slightly loose and has some small chips around the brush end. The brush is missing. The barrel is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, etc. The wire worm is full length with a good sharp point, but is slightly distorted at the tip.
