Gemelli’s Barman Lever Corkscrew
The Barman belongs to the first generation of Carlo Gemelli’s figural levers based on his 1959 American Design Patent.
It is the largest figure in the Gemelli family.
Strange enough the Patent was granted for a bottle opener, not for the corkscrew even though the patent drawings show a double lever corkscrew. The Barman has the bottle opener as the nose not as the mouth like the rest og the Gemelli family.
I consider this example to be in very good condition with only minor loss of paint and very good quality of graphics. See pictures. Marked: "Brevettato, Made in Italy". See also both Bull’s Ultimate Corkscrew Book, page 90 and Figural Corkscrews page 65.
Please ask any questions before bidding.
