A good example of William Rockwell Clough's 1876 American patent no:172868, open-framed, self-pulling single wire corkscrew known as the 'Powercone'.
This unmarked, nickel-plated example, manufactured by C.T.Williamson in Newark, New Jersey during their partnership, has an ebony handle (no chips/cracks, etc) with a very nice patina and a full, straight shaft and helix, which has a sharp point.
The frame has just a couple of very, very minor 'dinks', and the action is still smooth and fully functional.
There is some overall loss of plating in places - conversant with age and use.
