DESCRIPTION

1886 German Patented Bar Mount Corkscrew

This corkscrew was patented by N. P. Kirchau of Kolding, Denmark in Germany. The patent number is 39103 of 1886 (see Peters German Corkscrew Patents page 18. The corkscrew was patented in Denmark in 1887 by Jorgen Stallknecht.

It is marked PATENT on the top back of the main casting. Designs which are painted on the casting are worn. On the front of the main casting is a large letter S (see photo below) and inside the S is (as best as I can make out) "????? ECHT ?ERNSITBER ???NFABRIK ???RSENS"
