Wally Mellors Collection Ref X001 Uncatalogued
A Wier's double concertina corkscrew manufactured by James Heeley & Sons. See pg 100, British Corkscrew Patents from 1795 by Fletcher Wallis.
It measures about 105mm collapsed.
Both sides marked on top link “DOUBLE No 4283", and "WIER'S PATENT"+ "J*H*S B” on second link (James Heeley & Sons, Birmingham).
Good condition, reasonable amount of the original copper finish remaining, short hairline crack in wooden handle, worm appears to have been resharpened.
