DESCRIPTION
Wally Mellors Collection Uncatalogued X008 (MLf070)
Distinctive cast brass frame fitted with a double action wire helix. A locking ring at the end of the wire helix can be fitted over a hook on the handle to lock the helix to the handle. US patent 344,556, Wilber B. Woodman, 29 Jun 1886.
Overall length 148 mm.
Marked, cast in handle, WOODMAN'S PATENT on one side, PAT'D JAN'Y 6, 1888 on the other.
CONDITION
Complete but worm, ring and iron collar badly pitted (see photos).
