Wally Mellors Collection Uncatalogued X015
Good example of Maud's second patent, steel eyebrow with complex rotating collar, three spikes (this example has one missing) and brass disc. This is the 1895 British Patent No. 10,211 of William Robert Maud. See pg. 125, British Corkscrew Patents from 1795 by Fletcher Wallis.
Overall length 117 mm.
Marked on one side MAUDS and on the other PATENT.
Good condition, the mechanism works well, both steel collars move freely, but the inner collar is missing 1 spike (broken off). The worm is intact. Slight pitting throughout (see photos).
