DESCRIPTION
Wally Mellors Collection Uncatalogued X20 (MDx010)
Swedish Patent No. 4,300. A. L. Qvarnströms 12 Jul 1892 Patent "Direct Pressure" Telescopic corkscrew. The patent was later assigned to Julius Sloor. Subsequently patented in England, Germany and the USA between the same years, and also known as 'The Lightning'.
Overall closed length 140 mm.
No markings.
CONDITION
This example is in good condition with the brass shaft retaining most of its plating. The extending, rotating action is still smooth and fully functional and the speed worm is full, straight and sharp. The turned wooden handle has some small chips to the inner details but, otherwise, is in very good condition.
