Wilson S Pat Double Helix Corkscrew.
MARKINGS: S PATENT
British patent 858, James Edwards Wilson, 3 Mar 1877.
German DRP 98, F.W. Schaefer, 13 Jul 1877.
In very good condition.
According to ScrewBase:
Usually noted as James Wilson's patent (but could be Andrew Moseley's). There is no clear explanation of what S. PATT refers to - the second T should always be a superscript. The bell trademark is for Brookes and Crookes, Sheffield but Ferd Peters' view is that the S. PATT marking is an abbreviation for Schäfer's Patent
