Very fine condition Farrow and Jackson type late 19th cent. open frame brass corkscrew. Unmarked but believed to be of English manufacture. It is shown with a threaded shaft operated by a butterfly wing nut handle, an open frame with twin flat pillars, centering button, banded scrolling on the base and an excellent wire helix with a perfect tip. Overall length is 6.25 "(closed position) and 2.5" width of butterfly wing nut handle). See D. Bull's book- Ultimate Corkscrew Book-page 68 for more details on open frame corkscrews.
