Heeley’s “Empire.” This Is Neville Smith Heeley’s British August 25,1890 patent number 13,320 being an improvement on his 1888 patent. It is marked on the levers THE “EMPIRE” J. HEELEY & SONS PATENT. Both sides are shown. Very good condition with sharp and full helix. This corkscrew is from the collection of Homer Babbidge. Homer was a founder member of the ICCA. He co-authored “Corkscrews for Collectors” with Bernard Watney. Homer died in 1984.
