A well loved and well used example of the John Loach 1844 English patent no. 10176. It has a nicely turned bone handle (with slight discolouring at one end), with hanging ring, but the brush is missing. The two internal spikes are intact and solid. This version still has traces of the original gilding, but unfortunately the original Coat of Arms badge is missing ( evidence on barrel of the weld mark ).A very nice tapering solid cut worm.
The marking on the barrel have worn through use. The bone handle is in good condition.
