Sterling Roundlet with Advertising–Very Unusual Piece

Offered is a very unusual sterling roundlet with engraved advertising and dating.  I would think that this would have been a very expensive item for mass advertising purposes, and must have been limited to special customers.

The piece is engraved, “Compliments of/The Wilson/Distilling Company” on one half of the sterling casing and “July 7, 1901" on the other (see photo).  It is also marked “Sterling”. I find no maker’s mark.

I consider this piece to be in excellent condition.
