DESCRIPTION
All steel Twigg’s patent corkscrew with top catch piece. Marked on one side of frame G. TWIGG’S PATENT ENGLAND OCTOBER 10 1867 and on the other side G. TWIGG’S PATENT U.S. AMERICA JAN.21 1868. The British patent number is 2,851. The American patent number is 73,677 and it was the first British corkscrew to be patented in the USA. Solid cut worm. Some evidence of minor pitting to the handle. Nice example.
