Rare version steel 2 pillar Lund London Rack with 3 spring bottle grips. The rack goes right up to the bottom of the handle, exactly as in the patent drawings shown in Wallis. This is different from most London Racks which have a steel collar underneath the handle. It is marked “Lund’s London Rack” at the top of the frame and “Lund’s Patent London” at the bottom of the frame. The 3 springs are marked “Lund “, “Patent” and “London” respectively and there is a crown above “Lund”. These refer to Lund’s 1838 British Patent (bottle grips) and 1855 Patent (Rack) There is a small notch at the top of the frame which catches a small pin at the top of the rack. It has a varnished wooden handle with brush and hanging ring.
See Wallis – British Corkscrew Patents – page 19 and 33, Ellis & Ellis – Corkscrews page 155 and Peters - Mechanical Corkscrews page 224.
Condition – excellent, bottle grips all intact, fluted worm is complete.

Payment Details: | Paypal, Bank Transfer or UK Check. Seller would appreciate if items over 500 pounds value could be paid by Bank Transfer and not Paypal. This is due to major problems experienced previously with Paypal, plus their very high fees. Bank details will be sent on request. |
