Italian corkscrews are different from the ones made in other countries because they are handmade: English, German, French (less strictly) corkscrews must be exactly the same as the original (archetype). For Italian corscrews it's the opposite: a little bit, but they are all different.
A Thomason corkscrew might have some variant of the original model, but up to now they're all well known. If you find a different one, you might think it's a fake. This isn't the rule for an Italian coffeegrinder corkscrew . While Heeley, Lund, Perille etc. corkscrews were mass produced, Italian craftmen made single pieces, even if with materials of no value: brass instead of steel or bronze, wooden handles instead of bone, horn, ivory. It's perhaps for this reason that they are more attractive.
Here is one of them.
